Then you must have inadequate vision my friend, I recommend an eye exam.

I can view this forum on my One X completely unzoomed, and still make out the forums directory links to the right which are extremely small letters but sharp and legible.

i think you meant to say the opposite, if 1080p is what he wants on a 4.5" screen, then you would have super vision. But my point is text that small is pointless. The dpi on the gnex and 720p phones is higher than "retina" level, so you wont see jaggies. If you really want to read text that small good luck with that. Its pretty much the same as staring at your 1080 monitor from across the room.

You can asssume all you want but I still notice jaggies and pixelation when reading text with my GN although this could be due to pentile. I also notice it on my Nexus 7.

Also, the comment about the 15 inch 1080 option was a point about wanting more resolution than the standard 768. If they offered higher I would've gotten it. Only Apple offers higher than 1080 res in consumer notebooks.

Just curious, have you seen a 300+ ppi non pentile screen? OneX? iPhone5? You can't see jaggedness at all. Pentile is shit, it has that screen door effect.

Here's a review of the iPhone 5 screen from Anand.

To put this in perspective, in the past few years I've reviewed probably 30-40 different displays, from PC monitors to TVs to projectors. Not a single one, out of the box, can put up the Gretag Macbeth dE numbers that the iPhone can, and perhaps one projector (which listed for $20,000) can approach the grayscale and color accuracy out of the box.

In my personal use, the screen is the best I've seen. It looks great in direct sunlight too.

I could see the benefits, but at a certain point, it's just a spec race like the camera megapixels.

Sometimes you need a spec race to improve and innovate the old. Nothing like a good one up contest to get companies to spend their R&D funds.

Faster phones with better battery life with better cameras(especially low light) is what I want to see.

Dont really care. Why do we need it?

4.3" is my new favorite size, and I'm more than happy with qHD. Its not like I'm watching movies off my phone 5 days a week.

720p @ 4.3" is more than enough in my opinion.

I own both a One X and One S (720p LCD vs qHD Pentile OLED). While yes the 720p screen is sharper, the OLED screen has better color for my taste. I'm more than happy with it and actually prefer the One S over the One X as a daily user. (One X for Sale!) The 720p screen doesn't really do much for me on a day to day basis, so 1080p just seems useless to me. It's nice, but I'd much rather see improvements elsewhere on smart phones under 4.5'

Computer Monitors are a different story. Phones, not so much.

Better Camera is my #1 "feature request" in a smartphone.
