The 2013 Accord is a totally redesigned car. I first went to look at it at hendrick honda in Charlotte. The car was static display, and it was a EX-L. Amazing car, looks great, and feels great.

Drove it the week after, and loved it. Drove the CVT, but am looking forward to the 6MT. Good power, amazing standard features, and well worth the $$.

This is the car i will look toward getting in the next couple of months to a year.

Any of you guys have anything ?

Does not look redesigned at all. Still too big. And generally not considered a beauty. It used to not be so. Perhaps minor external changes compared to previous generation.
Power train wise, engines are more or less the same, however transmissions finally got better.

How is a DI engine more or less the same? Plug in hybrid? Seems like some major changes to me. I like the new styling too and like that it's smaller. AND you can still get an honest 6mt. Looks like a winner to me.

Large family sedan I can get with a manual transmission.
I could look like a turtles penis and I'd still buy it.

sedan only I4 comes with manual.
DI or not, displacement is the same, and the power output did not change much.
I am not saying it is bad, just it is one incremental step from previous generation. While other sedans like Fusion and Sonata had almost radical changes.

And your ford or Hyundai will drop in value like a rock while the Honda will sell for a pretty penny throughout the life of the car.

[Any] Honda with a manual? Probably a good car.

[Any] one with a patented Honda-tragic auto? Wouldn't roll the dice. Will they (or did they) ever learn to outsource their autos to AW or something, rather than using the same dumbshit design they keep clinging to?

I'm pissed that Honda isn't offering a 4cyl 6-speed manual Touring model in America. They give the fucking Canadians the option....WTF.

Keep in mind that they have moved to CVTs on the 4cyl models.

The design is getting old. Why not choose a more interesting car? How about the new edgy Camry?

I prefer not to fall asleep behind the wheel. At least the Accord should be slightly more interesting to drive.

It no longer looks as big as it did last year

I am a Honda biased guy and love Accords... I drive a 7th Gen

I do love this new one quite a bit, unfortunately all the features are in the top model and the price does not make sense (rather just go up to a TSX).

Anyhow I do think the redesign was GREAT improvement to the exterior which was nasty on 8th gen. Engines are redesigned but still pretty much give you the same power, fuel economy, that you could expect from the K and J before.

Thought you meant CVT only on the 4 banger.

What is Honda's rep for making a CVT?

Sorry - I was just pointing out that the CVT replaced the automatic in the 4 cyl. Honda doesn't have a long history when it comes to CVTs - I believe they have only offered them with Hybrid models in the US. This is their first in anything as large as the Accord.

That said...they decided to stick with a regular automatic in the 6 cyl....maybe it isn't ready for higher powered applications just yet..

First Honda CVT was probably around 2000 with the original Insight. I would think they learned their lesson with automatic transmissions after all the trouble they had in the early 2000s.

I'm tempted to go test drive one just to see but I'm guessing I won't have easy time finding a 6MT to check out.

If you opt for manual transmission you have the choice of two colors...dark gray and silver for the EX and black and dark gray in the Sport trim.

Chose the CVT and there are close to 10 color choices.

Bleh.

It's not a total redesign (same structure), but there are enough changes to turn a ho-hum car into a pretty compelling one. They have addressed nearly every possible complaint with the 8th gen.

One big downside is the move to struts on the front suspension, but apparently the car still drives great, so I guess it didn't hurt too bad.

I am very excited about the plug-in hybrid and look forward to driving one when they come out. They are using a pretty ambitious design for the drivetrain. A big leap forward over IMA.
