It looks more like a bloated Focus. Never liked the Escape. I see no point in this size SUV for most people.

I have concerns and would not fully trust a non-Subaru AWD system. Too many roller videos showing how almost no one else compares.

There's lots of discussion about these videos, suspiciously they're all made by Subaru or Subaru dealers, in many cases the traction control system on the vehicle tested is turned on or off, whichever is the most undesirable condition for the test. Real world owner reports generally suggest any AWD system is better than no AWD, I don't recall ever hearing someone say "ever since I bought this AWD Ford I keep getting stuck, I should have bought a Subaru."

A co-worker swears the VW 4-motion system is great, he's never been stuck in either of his AWD Volkswagons, he's never driven either in snow or ice though, much less a rack with rollers.

I'll go out on a limb and say this sells better than the previous Escape. I'll also guess most people think this looks better than the previous Escape (and pretty much every Subaru ever made), which was generic and uninteresting.

Yuckers. Ford has a great looking line-up, and has for many years now.....they are now -1 from that.

Nice car, practical, good on gas, cheap, roomy, and ecotech engine which apperently is great. Who cares about off roading, that AWD is good enough to get the average joe out of anything.

At least its aptly named ... Becoz the only thing I would want to do if I was in that vehicle would be to Escape.

See what I did there?

Misspell "because"?

On topic: I think it looks like a crossover that will appeal to the masses, which is what major manufactures do. This is the 21 century design, like it or not, almost every card has lines like this now. My biggest gripe is with the front bumper. The black plastic makes it look cheap. Overall, I think it looks like a new CR-V, RX series from Lexus and the RDX from Acura. I don't love it, but it isn't fugly either. I bet it will probably get good mileage during the spring/summer/fall & the AWD will work well enough to get through snow plowed streets during winter, which is what the majority of people want/need.

EDIT: The more I look at it, it looks like the CR-V made love w/ a Murano. Hopefully they don't turn it into a cabriolet

It sure won't perform like a Subaru when the weather turns.

Do you mean the headgasket wont blow or the front stabilizer bar wont snap in two, or it won't rust through like subies do.. Just looking for a little clarification.

I'm not a big Subaru fan but even I know the head gasket issue has been resolved for almost a decade. I don't know if it was your intention, but this makes you come across as a troll.

No, just good humored fun. As someone who has owned subaru's in the past, I'm just poking fun.
