I want to thank everybody here commenting,suggesting..I was not registered but registered to write this comment..I've bought many games that I have not heard of thanks to this forum..Keep this up guys..cheers

Not a bad thread, though, to make it better, I think it would have been nice to mention the Amazon deals that were much cheaper, still could be activated on steam...

As for the steam sale itself, meh.
I didn't buy anything from them, it was either cheaper @ Amazon, or the games had lame DRM on top of steam's DRM.

You mean like the Thursday Saints Row 3 deal that we didn't mention like a dozen times last week?

I've done it in some previous sales. I didn't do it with this one for three reasons, the simplest one is, I forgot too, I also didn't check many other places for their sales, and lastly this Steam sale was a bit more work and kind of a pain to keep up to date on with all the flash deals.

Saints row 2 is 3.74 now, first time it's done that.

That's weird, there wasn't another new deal scheduled this morning, and they broke their 'rule' about increasing the discount even more than during the sale.

It's back up to full price now (game $49.99, and the package with DLC over $100).

Maybe they had some 'last minute' specials? Were there more?

I and others posted a number of other site's sales, including the Amazon SR3 special he mentioned as well as deals like gog.com's Witcher series 66% off.

I'm sorry then? I didn't read all posts, especially when I saw dollar signs or numbers since it was probably about the current deals or what people had bought up to then.

saints row 2 is not saints row the 3rd...2 different games. saints row 2 is several years old.

I only ended up getting Batman AC. I really wanted Alan Wake, but I forgot to keep checking and missed out on it. 🙁

Edit: by the way, for those complaining about the thread, just shut your pie holes. This is the Steam sale thread, not the Amazon sale thread, and it was extremely well maintained by KaOTiK as usual. Thanks again man!

Calm down. No one complained about the thread. The desire to have other sales mentioned, so you don't buy Saints Row 3 for $12.49 the same day Amazon has it for $9.99, is valid, something with which everyone but you I think agrees - the thing is, that was happening, though he missed the posts. Everyone appreciates the efforts by people, most of all by Kaotik. Of course, it's hard to get every useful sale.

It just seems a little bit nit-picky to focus on that aspect (not directed at you to be fair) rather than the effort that KaOTiK put into keeping the thread up to date.

Either way I think this has been a great thread that could have been enhanced with some of the suggestions made.

Calling it "not a bad thread" diminishes the effort made IMHO.

Again many thanks to KaOTiK and everyone that contributed to the thread. Without it I would have missed out on some hidden gems in the steam sale.

Haven't had much time for gaming but I've been having a lot of fun with Toy Soldiers - one of my first purchases during the sale. Well-done, easy to get into, and pretty simple fun. Was easily worth the $3 or so I spent on it.

Just had to remind me that's the game I forgot to wait and paid $6 for minutes before a flash sale, didn't you?🙂 I'm hearing good things, look forward to trying it.
