2012 Honda Civic...

Well it's been fucked since they redid it in 2006, so I don't know why everyone is getting all upset fucking it up slightly worse.

The generation before 2006 or whenever they put in that stupid dashboard was much nicer.

Looks like shit compared to the last gen civic. I loved mine BTW.

How is it fucked? It looks sleek and futuristic. Even at 6 years old it looks better than a lot of new designs where the designers are trying to be muscular and organic and end up creating cars that look like catfish aliens.

K maybe too harsh. I've just been bitter for years over my dad crashing my 2004 Civic since I thought it drove way better than the 2006 that replaced it.

I think the styling is fine, but it seems cramped inside to me.

yea lower redline ftl, they need to import the type R's stateside, their excuse of wanting all their cars to have good mpg is stupid, if someone wants good fuel mileage they'll buy an insight, fit or hybrid civic, give us back something with balls.

If a Civic SI gets bad gas mileage, what moron would buy one? You could buy a Mustang V6 for the same price and get 300hp and RWD.

The insiders at Honda keep saying they haven't given up on performance and have things in the works, but they keep pumping out cars that are less appealing than the cars they replace. As a shareholder, I'm not feeling confident in the company right now.

As it stands you'll nearly get the same mileage in the V6 Mustang. They both get 31MPG HWY. Obviously the Civic is better in the city but for the similar price you could get a somewhat optioned up manual V6 Mustang

The outgoing Civic Si got 21/29 with the 6-speed using PREMIUM fuel lol 😀

For anyone caring about performance, I'm not sure the Civic Si is even on the map any more. It's too far removed from the golden age of the mid-90s, when they were closer to 2000lbs rather than 3000lbs, and the competition wasn't nearly as good.

Meh - I'd drive one if someone gave it to me. Then again, I'm not in the market for a car, much less a new one, right now.

My sister just got a brand new '11 Accord and from the time I spent in it, I was impressed.

Edit: I should add that two summers ago when I couldn't ride my bicycle because of an accident, a buddy of mind borrowed me a '96 Accord Coupe for 2 months until I recovered. It was no sports car but it did alright from getting from A to B. If the '12s are cheap enough and do A-B, the outside doesn't matter much.

I think the back looks like the accord coupe, just smaller.

And in recent news... I got a 2011 civic ( 4dr ) last night. Loving it so far. Supposed to get upwards of 36mpg. I'm anxious to see where I'm at when I fill up for the first time.

Look's like crap, sorry. I would take a previous gen in a heartbeat. Ball-less too, FTL.

The SI is a joke too compared to other options around. I am a Honda lover, but there is not 1 car they currently make that I would pay $$$ for.

looks like they gave it the accord coupe treatment all around. i suppose i dont find it too offensive.

and to chime in with my generational civic thoughts, i went from daily driving an 04 m/sedan to an 08 a/coupe and i have to say the 08 is superior in every way (and fortunately doesnt have the triangle dash). i wouldnt even say the 04 handled better, but it did "feel" more tossable.

What alternate universe did some of you grow up in where the Civic was EVER a good performer?
Power isn't everything. I love my 2011 Si, it's light & agile. Very fun around the turns and i love hearing scream to the 8k redline.

Yes I've own powerful turbocharged cars before and I like the Si more.

The rear definitely looks like a Camry. Not sure what Honda is thinking... well, actually I know what they're thinking. They are building a conservative econobox for old people and middle managers. That's fine. This car doesn't appeal to me.

I think the '12 Civic is the best looking one yet. Nothing at all like a Camry. Get your eyes checked if you think so...

Look at the MS3 compared against the Civic Si. Similar price, MS3 is a hatch (+), both are FWD, and the MS3 has more HP and tons more torque. The Si is WAY overpriced for what it delivers today. It should be <20k for it to really be a bargain IMHO.
