My time finally came up for a new vehicle for my job. My choices were limited to the Escape or a 2012 Dodge Grand Caravan. Having driven a Grand Caravan for going on 6 or 7 years now (a 2005 and a 2008), I decided it was time for a change.

In general, I didn't really mind the van, aside from it's soccer-mom image.

I've heard a an unfortunate number of less-than-stellar reviews of the Escape so I'm a bit uneasy about my choice, but I'm hoping that the latest iteration will be a bit improved. A friend of mine said he thought they were making some improvements to the interior for the 2012's but I haven't taken any steps to verify the truth of that.

Anybody have experience with these? I did get the V6 with 4WD, and I ponied up for the sport appearance package and some upgraded options. Maintenance is fully covered by my company's fleet management service so I'm not particularly worried about that either.

This is approximately what it'll look like in the color I chose with the sport appearance package:

Actually if i recall correctly the escape has the highest return rate of customers in ford's line up. (People buy one, and later upgrade to another.) I think Ford has made a lot of strides to improve their quality - and disregarding the whole myford touch fiasco their jd power scores were vastly improved (recently a huge hit because people cannot figure out myford touch)
