Charger was in the 7's with the 3.6 and the 5 speed.

2011 Charger with the 5.7L is 5.2 seconds to 60, so the 3.6/8 speed is not even close.

The GC is getting the 8 speed with the 5.7L in about 6 months. So the others can't be far off.

8 speed is coming across the line soon. Plan to pick up an SRT8 Chally with the 8-speed tranny sometime in the next few years.

From what I'v read it's not the engineering of the 8 with the hemi, it's the production volume. The hemi's 8 speed will be slightly revised to handle the power, and that is basically causing the Kokomo, IN plant south of me to have to run two lines. Everything I hear still points to either really late 2013, or a 2014 debut of the hemi 8 speed combos in the 300, Challenger, Charger, and RAM.

2013 GC will be a very short model year and the 2014 GC with the 8 speeds will be out in February 2013.
