I don't pay for any of it. I just have a basic low minute family plan with basic texting for my wife. All of these smart phones require people to substantially increase their monthly cell phone bill.

They will increase your bill but it can be pretty reasonable. My Samsung Captivate only costs $15 more a month than the dumbphone it replaced. When you factor in the subsidized pricing even paying $15/month for two years it's no more expensive than buying the phone unlocked and using it without any additional services.
