LOL, I did buy Psychonauts. First thing when you start some old man tells you to look to the right, then look up as a sort of tutorial, but then I get in the game and you can't even look up, as far as I could tell.

Tempted by Batman AC today, but with my backlog of games I am probably waiting till it is at least down to $20. Mount and Blade Warband is interesting too, but again, a lot of stuff unplayed in my Steam list, this would probably fall to the bottom.

I bough the witcher last night, and this morning I won it as part of the steam gift pile.

Bought STALKER clear sky this morning. This purchase rounds out my STALKER collection, I now have all three games.

What were you expecting, Skyrim for $2.50?

Most people who have been into Steam sales for some time already got most of the games they're interested in.

No, but I was sort of expecting more current/newer titles that haven't been on previous sales to at least be on some sort of discount, instead of the same rehashed deals they've been offering for the past 3 holiday/seasonal sales.

...hmm, maybe the stalker games? I generally despise FPS, unless it's something innovative. For instance: Borderlands is one of my favorite games (the RPG elements and looting). Anyone convince me along those lines that Stalker is worth it?

I did like Bioshock enough to play it most of the way through, but suddenly got bored for some reason and haven't loaded it up in about a year.

I read a quick blurb about Mount and Blade that says it is an RPG but with no story, just sandbox play. What generates the fun other than combat? Can you capture cities or something?

Mount and Blade is fantastic! Warband is my favorite. You can join factions, be a mercenary, capture towns/castles, start your own kingdom, start businesses and be a merchant trading between towns (decent economy). combat is excellent. Its one of my favorite games... but i like sandbox type games with no set story line.

I may pick up the pack just for the fact that i bought the original through the devs website, warband through impulse and fire&sword through steam.

Hahah... if you consider Borderlands to be innovative, then STALKER will knock your socks off. (Well, maybe, but in a different kind of way.)

The STALKER games are the most immersive, most atmospheric, most challenging games I've ever played. I'm not sure what else there is to say. As often as I get frustrated - just because of how plain difficult it is - I simply can't not like it, because the atmosphere, the the setting, and the enemies are so goddamn brilliant.

It doesn't have the RPG elements that Borderlands does. There's no leveling up, no skills, no special abilities. STALKER aims to be much more realistic than that. It has realistic environments and physics, weapon degradation, handling, ballistics, and damage. A single bullet to the head can kill you. There's no stats or "second wind" to help you out. You're just... dead. But it all adds to the realism and immersion that is STALKER. Unlike Borderlands or Fallout, STALKER is considered to be the only true tactical-shooter RPG.

I know "immsersive" is a buzzword that's thrown around in the video game industry a lot, but in this game, it's really something else... something huge. After you've spent a few days trekking across the dilapidated, anomaly-infested fields of post-disaster Ukraine, you'll know what I'm talking about.

It is absolutely necessary that you install the complete mods for full experience. It fixes all the bugs, and improves the game's AI, graphics, audio, and just about everything else.
