Nice! Post pics and riding impressions after you get it.

I was reading about the Yamaha FZ8 and admiring it actually. I still see a Ducati in my future though.

I was thinking about the FZ8 (my last bike was a FZ6), but decided on the Z1000 instead. I will get some reviews and pics posted this weekend!

pros
great torquey motor, a decent riding position that won't kill you, looks great
cons
lack of wind protection and no storage capabilities

I've considered this bike but I really want my next bike to be able to carry stuff if needed. I bet a nice slip on pipe and a fender eliminator would really clean the back half up nicely.

It is a nice bike. Kawasaki is my first choice when it comes to motorcycles. I've had four ninja's so far.

Holy hell I just found this bike while messing around online. I hope you got this color it is so freaking sweet. Looks like he put on a fender eliminator.

Grats!!

Looks absolutely wicked in black. Even the exhaust can isn't that bad. Definitely unique. Looking forward to the ride report.

Oh and you spilled a drink in your garage. ;)

A slip on would cost you $300 and you'd lose some weight, change the exhaust tone, and add a couple horses. Bike is sick in orange and white. Would love to ride one.

I wish!

slips for newer bikes seem to be 600+ nowadays :(

They all just want to be a Triumph Speed Triple when they grow up. ;)

LOL.

I was under the impression from reading reviews that the triumph wanted to be the Aprilia Tuono when it got more sophisticated ():)

OP: nice ride. very cool, should be a great bike

Judging by the styling changes made to the 2011 Speed Triple, I would have to agree with you.

I am just glad that naked bikes are becoming more popular in the US. More choices is always a good thing.

Unless, like me, you prefer big bottoms (eg torque). :D

the trips have pretty good tq

yeah, me too, I love that yamaha finally brought the sweet euro naked fairings over to the US on the FZ8. I was pretty tempted to get one. 09/10 FZ1's though are selling for less, so it was hard to justify since I could probably fazer-ize a FZ1 and end up about the same $$ in with more displacement :D.

In the end I went a different route anyways, but thats a thread for sometime next week
