Hyundai design team should be proud. They have really been knocking it out of the ball park recently. Link

It looks like they chopped the Tuscon onto a small sedan, its alright. I still like the 2011 focus better

I liked it. If they keep it priced under the competition with their killer warantee they should continue to do well.

Hyundai: Making GM and Chrysler crap their pants since (approximately) 2004.

And Toyota... at least round these parts. My sales guy (long time friend) at the local Toyota dealership tells me they're constantly getting customers that flat out tell them they're 50/50 on a Toyota vs Hyundai and most of the time they end up going to Hyundai... at least in the last year or two. You just can't beat the warranty and better quality they've been pumping out.

The new Accent and Elantra look great, but they also both look like mini-sized Sonatas.

+1 for good design.

-1 for lack of variety.

Like most Hyundais it looks like a hodgepodge. Most of the styling seems to be ripped off from the new Prius, with some Mazda bits

i love it. i think i can say that Hyundai has one of the best looking lineups among all the regular brands. there are a few stinkers in there...like the accent and the vercruz, but i like every other car they make.

ok wow. if it looks like that i like that one to. man they are on a roll.

i know some have said that they all look alike, but i am ok with that. at least the lineups look like they belong together. i would happily drive any one of the cars and i do. i have a santa fe and my wife has an elantra. both are great cars.

The scrunched up mushy sloppy styling is so damn ugly. Every other carmaker figured out how to make crisp clean cars in the '00s, why didn't Hyundai?

Does look Mazdaish, but better than the 3 which I find kinda goofy looking. Overall I like the styling of this car, certainly it's not boring.

Again, my main problem with Hyundai/Kia is the lack of variety.

For example, here is the new Kia Sorento and Kia Sportage:

Here is the Kia Forte and Kia Optima:

Agreed. The Sonata, in particular, appears to be a rather impressive piece of engineering - the four-cylinder engine has managed to pull off the neat trick of managing above-average efficiency, power (200hp ain't bad), and excellent reliability. Were they to somehow shove it in the Accent to make a sort of hot hatch, I'd probably buy one.

While fit and finish isn't quite up to the standards of Japan's best, Hyundai seems to have incorporated the latest technology - specifically, direct injection, amongst others - into their engines ahead of some of their competitors. This is likely a result of having far less invested into their technology than Honda or Toyota. In any case, the net result benefits the consumer most of all - Hyundai has great incentive to spend huge amounts on R&D, and all other automakers will in turn have cause to do the same in order to keep up.

The new Accent does look quite nice, though it is a bit of a Mercedes-Benz ripoff. That said, a C-class imitation is far better than its' predecessors, which I sometimes refer to as the Hyundai Accident.
