The roads were wet yesterday morning but the rain wasn't enough to wash the sludge off the road. I was late and in a hurry to get to work so I was braking hard and accelerating harder than I normally would have been in those conditions and got a bit of a skid when coming up to the first stop sign close to home.

I did not notice ABS pulsing during the skid but perhaps it was too short of a skid to notice. I also did not get the slip indicator and beep that I believe I am supposed to get any time I lose traction.

To test it, I deliberately skidded up to the next stop sign and, again, did not get the indicators I believe I am supposed to get. I did not feel the ABS pulsing even with the longer, deliberate, skid. Am I supposed to?

I suspect that it was never really fixed from an accident earlier this year where the right rear tire was pushed in and the slip indicator was stuck on. After supposedly fixing it, the insurance company's shop actually gave it back with the slip indicator still stuck on! I had to take it back to them twice and they ultimately had to take it to the dealer to get it fixed. How can I tell if their "fix" was simply disabling it in a way that leaves it disabled? How can I tell is ABS and traction control are actually still working?

The button still toggles the "TRAC OFF" light correctly.

Honestly I'd take it to an empty parking lot and try to get it sideways a little, if you feel your traction control kick in and dumb down your acceleration you know it still works.
