That Leno show is so boring. I caught an eps this week with one of those Kardashian chicks, and was amazed at how utterly boring the show was.

NBC has a lose-lose situation with the Tonight Show. Conan probably would have left if they didn't promise him the slot, but the arrangement before was the best. Conan belongs in the late night slot; Leno belongs on the Tonight Show; and Jimmy Fallon belongs in SNL reruns.

NBC better not touch the Thursday night shows. They've got a good thing right now and I'm sure they're going to be tempted to mess that up.

I wonder how Fox's agreement with Time Warner will affect this. If NBC starts getting money from the cable companies they may decide to go back to scripted shows during the 10 pm hour.

I'd like to see reality TV go in general. I can't believe Survivor is still on the air. I'd like to see shows like 30 Rock and The Office (American) go to. Americans just can't do that sort of comedy like the Brits do. It's just boring IMO.

The inside scoop is that leno's numbers are about 5% below expected. NBC didn't count on such a gigantic hit to their affiliates news reports. Polls and tracking have always shown a large reluctance of viewers to change their local newstations.

Long leash on conan though even though he's not doing great, but leno isn't getting cancelled unless immelt gets replaced and he replaces zucker and the economy has turned around. And leno's going to be given a chance w/ a retool.

But i think we're getting closer to NBC allowing it affiliates the choice of whether or not to carry leno though.

the year might be starting on a high note

an NBC affiliate is reporting that Leno could be getting canceled: http://www.knx1070.com/Leno-Out-/6061382

from an objective standpoint, I'm surprised NBC doesn't can Conan and put Leno back at 11.

NBC Universal, responding to a report the company plans to dump Jay Leno's primetime television show, issued a statement acknowledging problems for local-TV stations arising from the show, but said Mr. Leno and the show are "committed" to working to "improve the performance."

da what...30 Rock is awesome.

The only show I am even marginally concerned with being canceled is Stargate Universe, judging by the later episodes I think it has potential.

Another leno story.

What I've heard is that they are going to put leno back on at regular time but reduce the lenght and give conan a smaller show at the back end.

Also heard a couple weeks ago before leno going was a story that NBC has 18 pilot shows in production, 10 1 hour and 8 half-hour, which is about a 50% increase over normal levels so they must really be fishing for some time fillers.
