2010 dodge charger rolls in park

Hello,,
Maybe someone could help me!!!!
I have a 2010 dodge charger and I have never had any issues with the car I have had it since 33,000 miles so almost new but recently it started rolling in park if parked on an incline!!other than that car runs and drives amazing...so I am wondering if it's a sensor or something dumb!!!I would rather not bring it to the dodge dealers here in Grand Rapids Michigan,,due to I have had issues with them in the recent past

are you sure you are in park? shift levers in those are notorious for failures.

why not use the parking brake? how steep of an incline are we talking?

is the parking pawl destroyed? long shot, really is.

I do use the parking brake but it's my wife's car and I am afraid one day she will forget and it will just roll away and hit another car or even a person so just trying to be safe!!!

And I'm assuming it's in park I have looked online and never saw that the shifters had issues.but I guess that's a place to start!!!!Thanks so much for your reply.

See i just had it in at K&m dodge on Plainfield and they replaced the transmission case because it had a crack in it but it's been a year and they said it's not under warranty anymore so they wanted some bs amount of money to fix it i told them to take a flying f##k!!!!!

And listen for clicks while you spin them which could indicate the parking pawl is not engaging the teeth..

Yeah, it sounds like the pawl isn't engaging. Other than a broken pawl it might might also be the rod that engages the pawl into the teeth. The fact that the case was replaced a year ago makes something like this a likely suspect.

Seems like some crappy dealer service right there. Likely not getting the job done right and then hiding behind no warranty to cover for their incompetence.
