2010 Chevy Cobalt replacement

that looks like poop and the pod gauge cluster trend is retarded. the cloth is an ugly square pattern too.

It looks a million times better than the crap they have out there now. Just pair it with an engine that can deliver ~ 27 / 34 or something and they'll have a winner on their hands.

They need to
I'd put them last in that class of vehicle, at least the Caliber looks different

My parents have a Caliber and it is by far the worst POS in it's class, it's almost unforgivable.

The current Cobalt XFE gets 25 mpg in the city and 36 on the highway.

The inside looks similar to the layout the new CTS has, very good.

Looks OK. Why do they paint it like that?

To hide the shape and overall look of the car. There was an article in C/D a while ago (last month maybe) where they had an interview with a guy that owns a company that disguises cars for big companies. Patterns like that are supposed to throw off the auto focus on cameras and make it harder for the human eye to detect the shape.

Not to mention that GM is planning on mating this new one with a 1.4liter Supercharged engine that is supposed to get even better gas mileage. Looks promising.

The problem will be cost, it will be too expensive to save money, you will spend $25-30k on an econobox.

That interior looks much better than anything the Japanese have in that price segment.
Looks like a solid contender from GM.
One thing I don't like right away is the outside opened fuel hatch. In time of $5 gas, that's not a good idea 😀

It looks better than I would have thought for an econobox chevy. I'll be interested to see what the price comes out to be.

If you're really that interested, just work the Epica prices back for exchange rate and excise...

I'm sure such a formula exists, given the GTO & G8...

What are you talking about? The Epica is related to the Malibu or Aura since it's build on the Epsilon mid-size platform. This is built on Delta which is compacts.

Not to mention that it's quite a bit more complex than just looking at exchange rates and things.

It can't be that much more complicated to approximate at least, since exchange rate and excise should be the main differences between otherwise extremely similar vehicles sold in the US and Aus.

To my untrained eye the Epica and those spy shots look remarkably similar, of course it's hard to estimate size differences from those photos. Looking closer the spy shots do look a lot more compact, although the styling cues are to my untrained eye taken straight from the Epica.

I'm assuming this will replace the Viva here, and is more that size?

It should be, but it's not always that way. They set prices differently in different markets to take into account shipping, the amount it costs to support dealers and the other infrastructure, and how much the market will bear.
