200x11 or 166x13.5 OR 12x195??

what would give better performance for an xp 1800+... right now the system only has pc2700 memory so the system memory will only run 1t 166mhz.. running at 200mhz the mem is set to 83% on the A7n8x-x

If you are using a dual channel memory bus, 200x11 will be faster because you loosen the bottleneck at the CPU FSB.

If you are using only single channel, 166x13.5 will be faster because you are running your memory at 166 either way, so communication with a single DIMM isn't sped up by increasing CPU FSB to 200, if anything it's faster memory access at 166 because the buses stay in sync, plus you get 41MHz higher clock speed.

200x11 cause if i'm correct you will have a 400mhz bus!, and you should get more performance out of it that way.

i only have 166mem... and doing some benchmarks its a tad faster at 166mhz bus in sinc with the bus speed of the mem.

thanks for the input.

should go for a PC3200 soon since it can do 200 X 11
which is definately better...

but with PC2700 ram... you can still push higher than 166 😉

aight.. got this bad boy at 11.5x195... should i keep pushing.. ? 1.675v.. what's the max voltage i should go with this bad boy?
