I have a Gateway PIII-600 which I want to upgrade...I was thinking of going with a Tbird 900 or so (have a Gateway Tbird 750 system at home also). The thing is, all the Gateway systems ship with cheapo 200w ATX power supplies. Does anyone know if this will stably operate a Tbird 900 with either an Abit or Asus motherboard? The system has a fair number of components (two 7200rpm HDs, a CD burner, 4 PCI cards, 1 AGP card). The 750 Tbird system from Gateway runs fine with a 200w PS, but they use a special (el cheapo :) mobo.

Thanks,
Jason

The one duron system I put together worked fine for the few days I had it, wasn't overclocked though and wasn't loaded. I'm getting another one put together so we'll see how that works out. I guess you have one of those odd shaped gateways ps that can't be upgraded. Word of advice in case you try to mod the case, a dremel will have a horrible time cutting the thick steel that gateway cases use.
