What would work for a windows xp system. Something that will resize ntfs with and without having to format the hdd.

Is their any program out their?

its a old hdd that I accidently copied a 30gig drive to it and now it only shows as 30 gigs. I installed xp on it and I need to resize the partition. The data disk wd cd doesnt work anymore.

I think you can do this...if the space is marked as free...
Go to control panel-> administrative tools-> computer management, then under storage go to disk management, right click on the free space and merge it with the main partition
***Its a good idea to backup any important data before trying to do anything with partitions

Im going to have to rma the hdd. I tried using partition magic and it didnt even see the extra space. Nothing is seeing it and thats whats odd even resizing doesnt come up.

If you have a diskette drive download a win98 boot image from bootdisk.com and run good old fdisk and see what shows up.
