200GB wd drive, will i need a controller card as boot drive on Asus Nforce 2 deluxe board?

It supports 48bit LBA, you are fine.

My 180gb worked fine, but know that Windows XP (pre sp1) will only see it as 130gb! Once you install SP1, it will see it all. (I resized w/partition magic). Or you can find an integrated SP1 XP I suppose.

I just installed this on an older Epox 8KHA+. After my bios update to support 48bit LBA (you already ahve this) I installed winxp to a 40 gig partition since pre SP1 won't detect more than 136gigs. Once you install, put sp1 on right away, then you can extend the partition to whatever size you want using winxp's volume manager. Mine is using the full drive.
