200gb drive stabbed itself.

cliffnotes:
-drive stopped being detected by windows after some i/o errors
-thought maybe it was a corrupted partition table
-maxtor scan showed some errors 🙁
-now trying data recovery guide at pcstats (http://www.pcstats.com/articleview.cfm?articleid=1139&page=6) bought a 250gb drive to be used in recovery attempt.
-if recovery fails i'm going to cry like a little baby and then stab everyone in a 3 mile radius.

CDs are cheap. DVDs are slightly more expensive, but worth the storage space. If these files were so important (looks like mainly, if not all, anime and related stuff), you should've backed them up onto CD/DVD 😉 The added bonus would be that you wouldn't have needed to spend the money on a 200GB (and thus, a 250GB) drive to begin with 😉
 
the 200gb, i've had for ~10 months. good thing it's still barely under warranty, but the files. THE FILESSSSS. 🙁
 
yeah, way to much coolness loaded onto that poor drive. no way it could contain it all. 🙂

well, if you're still in Riverside, the casualty would be less than 10. You probably will cry more than people bleed 😛 🙂 😱
 
man, it's a pain in the butt to burn, label, store.
and finding files is a nightmare. heh

my little sisters computer hd failed yesterday to...

shes ticked all her sim saves are gone... i'm trying to recover it suggestions?

FuZoR: does the drive still spin up and does bios detect it? if so, try that recovery guide from pcstats.
 
yeah, looks like i was able to recover most/all, but i don't know if any files are corrupted. =/ time to watch 200gb of stuff. 🙂🙁
