i read that all nforce2 boards would support 400bus. i've got an MSI k7n2g-l. with nforce2 IGP stepping A2. anyways, i am currently running a xp2100+ , but plan on unlocking it eventually so i can run 400mhz bus. my ram can handle 400fsb so i figure why not.

now will this work? the board has a 200fsb setting, but now i am seeing these nforce2 ultra 400 or whatever boards an feel kinda cheated like, i was fooled into thinking all nforce2's would support 400fsb by nvidia...

They will all support the 400mhz athlons, and most boards can get to over 200mhz overclocking without a problem. I have mine at 192.

And they made those "ultra 400" boards or whatever because of the new 400mhz athlons, they need a new name to use :)

I'm not familiar with the MSI but my SL-75FRN-L with the A2 does 211fsb silky smooth with 1.8v vdd, if you are able to get at the vdd on your board via the bios or a mod then I have little doubt 200fsb will be obtainable.
