2009 Toyota Rav 4 A Chick Car

Would you consider the Rav 4 a chick car? I think it looks really nice and would consider buying it if I was in the market for an SUV. The V6 AWD looks like a good pick.

I bought a 2008 Honda CRV EX AWD over the new Rav 4. The RAV 4 had the optional V-6 which was nice, considering how underpowered the CRV is (166HP); but I thought the CRV looked better inside and out.

And and the Equinox is a Chevy. It's a second tier car brand compared to Honda and Toyota.

Wrong. How is Chevy a "second tier car brand"? I would buy some Chevys over comparable Toyota or Honda models.

Thats complete FUD. If you have actually driven an Equinox (I have) you would appreciate that it is superior in some/many ways to a Pilot/RAV4/CRV.

The new ones may look nice, but do you want an nice looking unreliable POS or do you want something that has a proven history of reliability and owner satisfaction.

I think all little SUVs are chick cars; gotta have an SUV for when your daughter/wife/gf wrecks it while putting on makeup.

Yes, the Rav4 has always been a "chick car". I wouldn't let that stop me from driving one if it was given to me.

the rav4 and crv have been tried and true models their entire lifespan. the chevy is going to be tough competition to them, but it still has a ways to go before it can carry the same clout.

No more than any other small SUV. I am not really in the target market for these vehicles - I am 6'4" - but to me the RAV4 is a perfectly appealing small SUV if you're into that kind of thing.

I have a 2008 black Rav4 with V6 and AWD and I do not think it is a feminine car, but I am biased. I love my car, and so far I have never had any problems.

you actually thought the crv looks good on the outside???? the new crv look is horrible. it looks like a big smiley face. it also looks the like the hood grill are detached from the bumper, like the designers forgot to fill in that big old empty space.

personal taste i guess

I thought it looked smooth and sleak, and much better than the Rogue and RAV4

I thought the interior looked and felt better than the others as well

i cant speak to the interior of either. i have only been in a 2006 or 2007 rav 4, but based on the exterior alone i would pick the rav4. granted i am in the market and will not be getting either of them, cause i like the santa fe much better.

Subjective matter. I've always thought CR-V is the best looking small SUV under $ 25k. Also, it is now the best seller among SUV. Last gen CR-V couldn't achieve, but new one (only material difference between last gen and new one is its look, IIRC) did. I think that clearly reflects how the buyer thinks about new CR-V and its new design.

No. The best car for you is the one that meets your needs and budget, and that you like the look and feel of. If you like the look of the Rav 4 and it works for you, then go for it.

A neighbour has the V6 AWD and loves the look and utility of it, plus it goes like stink .

This whole idea of "chick cars" and "ghey" cars is ridiculous . Supposedly the Miata is a woman's car but you don't see the enthusiasts here bashing it, do you?
