It looked so much better than I expected, rolling on 19"'s no less. Looks like a real contender. I took several pics, may post later. But it really does look a lot better in person. Very aggressive.

From what I have seen online it looks great except I dislike the hood/front slightly

Either way, it is a huge improvement over the 2004-2008 model

Yeah I'll up them later, and definitely a huge improvement. I've always liked the Maxima, but the last-gen one was a definite disappointment. I think their peak was the '95-'99 model as far as being a great value and excellent overall looks. The '00-'03 looked freaky to me at first, but grew on me, but the Acura TL and G35 started gaining serious ground on the Maxima for a similar price. Then the last-gen came out and was just too little to compete realistically, not to mention a loaded Altima 3.5SE actually looks nicer.

front is accordish and rear is camryish. can't say i like the pics. the 03 model was the best maxima, imho.
 
Those headlights are really horrible. The rest of the car is not too bad.

Not to give you a hard time...but you do drive/love a focus which I also think looks hideous...so I don't know if we see eye to eye on what a good car looks like.

Caught my eye on the freeway. I think it looks pretty good except for that one corner of the headlight that sticks out. No idea what the point was behind that.

i think it's a good car but you can't help but cross shop it with the altima SE (which costs thousands less with less goodies) and the infiniti G35 (a few grand more with even more goodies).

if i were to buy a new car today, i'd still buy an accord V6.
 
agree with the tc front swipe, the headlights are all kinds of ugly. but i do like the general body contours.
 
Another eye-gouging design from Nissan. I just don't get that company. They CAN do nice designs (Z/G cars), but almost inevitably choose to make rolling turds out of every new model.

I have the exact opposite opinion on this car. I really like the entire car, from front to rear. Did not like the 04-08 style though.

This car looks like a real winner.
 
It's better but I still don't like it.

Supposedly Nissan's engineers had the Porsche 911 GT3 as the target for handling, I think it's safe to say they are gonna come up a bit short. 😀

Odd I can't stand the G's (except the coupes). I have not been too fond of them since Renault got their hooks in.

Nissan/Infiniti designs I love:

S13 through S15
R30 through R34 + current
I30 1996-2001
Q45 last gen
M35/45 current gen
G20 last gen before it was killed
All the Z's
Maxima all gen except last
 
I still think it looks like a lexus. anyone thing it kind of looks a little like an ES on the front end?

I feel the same way, but can understand the 'eye of the beholder' syndrome. I was just really impressed with the solid stance it has, and the 19" rims look terrific on a car that size. It was also eerily quiet until he mashed on it, and it sounded much better than the last-gen Maxima, maybe reworked intake/exhaust?
