2009 Ford Verve Concept (aka next-gen Fiesta/Escort)

Ford will show off their "Verve" concept in Frankfurt this September. Supposedly this is a dead ringer for the next gen Fiesta subcompact due later in 2008. The Fiesta will be available in the U.S. in 2009 as a 2010 model.

Check this thing out. I love the detailing in the side panels and rear. Beautiful little car.

Wow, that does not look like a Ford. The front reminds me of Peugeot.

Ford and Mazda collaborated on the chassis. Each has their own design team working on the style.

I can't help but think the new Mazda6 sedan is based off of that design as well.

I mean, the Iosis already looks quite mazda-ish (the front end atleast, with the RX-8ish wheel arches).

I like Ford of Europe's designs though. Much better than Ford of America's 3-bar scheme.

edit: just read that page, didn't realize they said the same thing about the rx-8. I was only looking at the pictars. 😱

I remember running around in my buddies old yellow Fiesta.. called it "Wild Chipmunk" after a ride we have at a amusement park here that takes sharp turns. Man those were fun days. 😉
