any recommendations from current owners of 2009 models. most search results give lcd's from 2007 or older. the newer reviews are vague in regards to glossy/reflective coating even though they meet all my other requirements. and before someone suggests matte or the like, i live in a cave with no ambient light that i cannot control, i do not work in an office, and i know how to keep the sun from shining through my window. i have discovered curtains!

Well I got this one on a deal for $190 and it is pretty damn good.
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...19&Tpk=fhd2401

The price is now $250 but considering that the free speaker bar is a $50 value, you are basically still getting the monitor for $200. (Edit: I think that offer has now expired, but even at $250 it is still a good deal if you want 1920x1200.)

I have this monitor and I love it!!
Feel free to ask if you have any questions.

Thanks for the recommend on the 24" 1920x1200 screen...I was actually looking around for one for a relative of mine and based on your post I just now bought it from newegg. Perfect timing.

thanks, this led me to other glossy lcd's and after comparing them, based on price, the FHD2401 appears to be exactly what i'm looking for.

Actually, Mini DisplayPort is a VESA standard now.

...and the new Radeon 5970 looks like it comes with one as well:

That being said, it is still a bitch to hook up an Apple display because no one makes a male MDP to male DVI or HDMI adapter (yet).
