2008 original xbox softmod

I'm planning on softmodding my original xbox but all the guides online are from like 2003-2005. What does everyone do today?

I have splinter cell and a memory card I can hook up to my computer.

My priorities with it will be XBMC and emulators (SNES, N64, PS1 atleast).
 
Just look up krayzie's installer and download it ,just get the installer on your memory card and you should be good to go.
 
i always found Mech Assult + Bert and Ernie (i think, whatever the best one is) then update it with a better dash. Takes like 20 minutes.
