I have the Mazda 3 hatchback, the touring edition, and I'm very happy with it so far. Since the car is so light, it almost feels like the engine is more powerful than it is. You can zip around with it quite well, and the hatchback is surprisingly roomy inside.
 
i have the 09 hatch GT with the works. leather, moon roof, nav, satellite, bose .. it's a great car. it's peppy and if you can take hte lead off your foot every other tank, it gets good mileage =D

so light? I have to disagree there. I have a sedan, and by no means does it feel that light to me. It could use a little more kick. But then again, we probably have different expectations.

not to say I don't love my car, it's great. I have an 05, and agree the AC pretty much sucks unless you drive < 30 minutes AND keep it in a garage. Otherwise, it takes forever to cool.

It's a mixed up world when close to 3,000 lbs is light 😉
