2008 GTI has a slight stutter, hesitation when I start it up.

This is a new occurence after they did my 40K which involves changing all the air filters and oil. I presume the spark plugs or something with the ignition system is dirty. There are no CELs. I was going to drop a bottle of regane or techron and see if it clears up. What do you guys think? It's about time to change the spark plugs anyways. Just wondering what kind of things to look at so I know for myself.

As far as I know they recommend changing the plugs along with the 40k service. I did and it seemed to start and idle smoother than it had been with the old plugs.

Also, manual or DSG?

Hmm....another VW problem....hmmm.....

lol.. 🙄

It's a DSG, got one of the new ones already.

Useless post. As if other cars never develop any kind of problems.. please gtfo

Cars been rock solid and a blast to drive. Plus, this isn't even a huge problem, I still get the same MPG and car pulls just as hard. I just noticed that it isn't that smooth of an idle at startup as it used to be..

Ah, ok. Yeah just checking to make sure you had the DSG service done (you dont want to see what happens if you skip it for a long time)

As for the rough idle, changing spark plugs is probably worth a shot. It definitely helped when I did mine last summer. Could also be the beginning of the common PCV failure.

1 more question, which engine? FSI or TSI (Early or Late 2008?)
