LOL, killed the boss first try, without reading any spoilers or hints. But I think this was meant to be easy? I actually tried jumping across the chandelier to a ledge on the other side, because I thought you'd have to burn the rope multiple times for the chandelier to fall. I didn't make it, and I fell down, thinking I'd die, but I didn't, and then I won?
