I know the E207WFP has just been released, and I know it's a fair bit cheaper than the 2007. I'm in the market for a widescreen LCD, and I've had nothing but good times with my Dell P1130 CRT (still going, but I want widescreen, and I'll need an LCD for college next year)... so I'd like to get one next month. I've been looking at these monitors, as they seem to be the right size, price and feature range. The only differences I've noticed are really that the 2007 has S-video, composite and USB ports, and that the E207 has none of those but does have an HDCP supported DVI port. Am I missing anything serious? Also, what do you guys think about HDCP - worth the bucks? The only real device I have that has a chance of supporting it is my 360, which I'd buy the HD-DVD drive if it is that much of an increase. Please let me know what you think!

Thanks for reading my wall of text!

i think the e207 is a 6bit TN panel, and the 2007 is a much better 8bit PVA panel by lg/philips

make sure you go on ebay and buy a 20% off coupon for $1-2 so you can get 20% off these.

well i think there is already a discount on the 2007fpw at 15% off right now, so you wouldnt get it much cheaper since percent off coupons override each other.

the e207 though i think its 289-20% so it would be like $230 or so

Sounds good... if I can scratch the funds together I'll try as hard as I can to get the 2007. With Gears of War, Rainbow Six Vegas and the XP-Vista promotion on the OS itself too, it may be hard to afford. Thanks for all the help guys!

i have both, actually a 2005 and a e207wfp. i like the 2005 for height adjusting, screen pivot.

honestly i cant notice panel quality difference. also i find both are great for gaming.

BUT i think i must stress height adjustment here, the e207wfp panel sits close to the ground. and there aint no way to move it up and down, and it could be a deal breaker for you.

oh and i have been lucky with my dell panels, no dead or stuck (which suck a lot more than dead) pixels on either.

oh that is some coincidence Hyperlite, I have that same receiver (if that refers to the panasonic xr55) AND subwoofer in my HT setup. how cool :) although i have athena speakers all around.

hmmm, so we can't go wrong with the 2007 then i suppose. and we get dell's customer support, which, while disputably not great, is probably better than sceptres. thats just speculation..

Honestly, I'd take either a 2007 or 2005wfp. I'm intrigued by the composite and s-video ports, that way I can plug in my super nintendo or GCN or something and play those in WS (more like PS2 or GCN, but hey). Height really doesn't bother me, I was planning on sitting it on top of my 360 if it isn't too much of a heating/vent issue. If anyone knows where I can get a 2005 relatively cheap (ebay or not, but I've searched and found zero)... please let me know. Would even consider used!
