I am in the market for a 20" LCD. The Dell is pretty much number one on the list, but with all the issues I think I am going to have to hold out.

My question is: Do you think Dell would have fixed the Refurbs and therefore are safe to buy?

I can wait if need be, and that is what I am leaning toward but I would like to know what you guys think.

Comparable 20" recommendations welcome :)

I finally bit the bullet and decided to order a new 2007WFP. I got mine for $340 shipped after tax, and figured it was worth taking the risk and hoping I don't have any banding issues. If they are there, I figure I will just send it back, but for under $350 it was worth trying to me.

Just assume they're going to have banding. So far, I haven't seen any evidence that there are ANY good ones out there. A couple people have said they have good ones, but most have later either said oops, I do actually have it, or in one case a guy actually posted pictures to show he didn't have banding, but the pictures clearly showed that he did.

You can play the buy and return game for the next month or two and spend dozens of hours fighting with them hoping that your investment isn't a waste, or just wait a couple weeks and see what happens. They'll go on sale again from Dell, they always do.

Got mine yesterday and noticed the "Banding" issue. Mucked around with the menu and something kicked off, the screen autoadjusted and BAM. The banding problem went away. I forgot exactly what I did but all is well, for now.

Well try to figure it out if you can. There are thousands of people, including Dell engineers, who are dying to know.
