Man I'm getting over the hill with video game trends. I'm still in the mindset where tournaments use to be fun and cool things that involved fighting games like Street fighter or FPS games like Counter Strike.

The fact that WoW and Guitar Hero II are "tournament" games probably suggest I start fading away from the gaming scene and pick a new hobby.

WoW is becoming an e-sport with the Arena system so that isnt that bad... but CS and Quake should definitely be on there...

Nothing is wrong with it. It's just extremely different from many previous years of tournaments. Although it's hard to take WSVG seriously when they don't consistently stick to a genre. (They should take a clue from Korean Starcraft league)

Trends are changing I guess.

because it was judged in 3 areas:
accuracy, showmanship, and 1 other

and the accuracy thing sucked. one guy got a higher score, but the other got more accuracy. so the stupid judge girl gave them both the same amount of points.

the showman ship was interesting. one guy put the guitar behind his head and was still hitting the right keys.

but it was lame in that at the end, the guy that slammed his guitar on the ground and broke it got the higher score in that category. LAME!

The other guy should have won.
