i've "heard" that vw has been more reliable over the past few years? Any comment. We had vw's from the early 2000's that had electrical problems and rubber rot.

Anyway wife and I are looking for a medium size low mileage used car to run into the ground (25,000 miles per year)

We found an '07 Passat for $18k with 18k miles, we could probably talk about 1k off.

Vw has an excellent pre-owned warranty, 2/24 ONTOP of the balance of the factory (4/50)

Decent?

EDIT; signed up for consumer reports, HOLY SHIT that's some piss poor reliability. The v6 passat was off the charts at -136% below average.
 
Did you hear this from the salesman? You can run a VW into the ground, but it will run your wallet into the ground.
