Yesterday while trying to power the iMac on it would no longer power on at all. Before this several months ago doing the SMC reset procedure would help fix it when it got "stuck" occasionally. I would remove the power cord press the power button for about a minute and plug it back it and turn it on and all was well again.
My main question here is what part would I need to replace to have it turn on again is it the power supply? I have found the part number for that on ifixit.com. I have opened this machine up before so it does not phase me to change this out if it is the reason. I just wanted some direction as I don't want to order that part and it not be it. Other than that the computer runs absolutely fine no issues what so ever.
