2007 Honda Civic Hybrid

I'm looking for a spare car for my daughter, and found a really clean 2007 Honda Civic Hybrid with a little over 100k miles that I think I could get for about $2k

Yes, the IMA battery is probably toast, owner does state the IMA light comes on.

Looks like you can get a replacement battery via Rock Auto for about $2840, and can get $1264 back from the core exchange (net cost, around $1600 for the battery)

I've worked on hybrid battery packs at a previous job, so I have no concerns about my ability to swap the IMA battery. I'm just wondering if anyone here has owned this gen of Honda or Civic Hybrid....any concerns I should be thinking of?

The Civic Hybrid gen2 was notorious for eating batteries. I would prefer to go with one of Bumblebee's rebuilds, as they use better, new cells with more capacity rather than refurbished cells.

That said, I think the gen1 gets better mileage, they're comfortable, and you might find one with a healthy battery for cheaper. Or, maybe a Prius?
