Are you sure you're thinking of the right SUV, because I don't see any resemblence whatsoever.

I would say more along the lines of a Honda Pilot.
Honda Pilot wheelbase: 106.3 in.

Chevy Tahoe wheelbase: 116 in.

Saturn Outlook wheelbase: 119 in.

The difference is the width, where the Tahoe is noticeably wider than the Lambda platform.
 
I like the interior, and I don't hate the overall appearance, but it looks like it'll still be longer than I like my vehicles to be.

Because the Acadia is larger and has a nicer interior? They aren't quite in the same segment. The GMC is probably $5-10 more expensive.
