Actualy they are quite economical.

yea they have a small I4 and arent that big at all.

and why the hell does the rav 4 have that weird looking glass in the rear quarter panel? its not to allow the big window to roll all the way down as there already is one of those, but why is it there? more light?

The current one weighs as much as a sports compact car.

The previous model weighed as much as an Integra.

Not sure that body style is an improvement. I'll have to see more pics. It'll be hard to improve over the current RAV4 in the looks department.

While the front is slightly swept, make no mistake..........it looks VERY much like the element. Did y'all entirely miss the upper rear quarters on this thing???

And, yes, I am well aware of the RAV4 having been out longer than the element. It was a stab at Toyota's styling design being just SLIGHTLY behind the curve!!!

My entire family owns a slew of Toyotas, but my personal opinion is that Toyota could've done MUCH better!!!

The front half and rear half look like 2 different vehicles!!

Acura MDX in the front..........(Honda)
Element in the rear..........(Honda)

Looks good IMO. Even though it's a 'cute ute' I've always liked the Rav4.

People like to mock the cute utes (heck I used to do it myself) but with gas prices being what they are now (let alone in the near future) it was a big factor in our decision to opt for a CR-V SE recently. You still get a surprising amount of passenger space, a decent amount of cargo space, a higher view of the road and decent mileage to boot. Hopefully they'll bump the Rav4's interior space up on par with the CR-Vs with that design because right now, the interior feels more cramped than a lot of compact cars.
