Well, I'm honestly clueless this year as to what my return will be. I'll guess $1500, just on a whim. The last 4 months of the year offered tax free income for myself.

I've gotten up to 10k back. Having sold a home with capital gains (albeit about 85% depreciated) I have no idea. I will say break even

For the last several years I've owed big despite having allowances set at zero. Probably a result of my wife and I making decent money while having no house or kids.

Now that we had a kid in '06, maybe I'll actually break even or get a small refund. Of course the money's just going to her instead of the gov't so it's not like I see any more. Oh well, I'd rather use it for her than for illegal wars and corporate welfare.

I haven't even began to THINK about running the numbers yet!
But with around $70K in Out-of-Pocket medical expenses alone, I don't see why I shouldn't get back everything I paid in ($5200 Federal, $2700 State).

Edit: Just ran some rough figures through an online tax estimator, TurboTax says I get it all back.

ok i have a question. i tried one of those estimated tax applets, one job i maid 22.7k and was taxed 2700 the other job i was paid 29k and i guessed that i was taxed around 3300, i also contributed 2.3k to my 401k so i put the numbers in as......49.7k income and 6k tax and it says i owe 800, whats up with that, i claim 0 exemptions at both my jobs

I ended up with a much larger refund than what I intended, because I think I got carried away withholding from two bonuses I received toward the end of the year (I was afraid of getting tagged with a large tax bill). My federal refund is $3,130, and state something like $700.

It's good timing in that I just bought this watch.

<---- Whips it out and puts it on the table (his tax return, get your mind out of the gutter)

$1800 back combined. This is the most I have ever gotten to date. Yipee.
