2006 NIT Tournament Thread

Well, it's not quite the end of their season yet. Here is the bracket for the 40-team Postseason NIT

Practically all the schools who have winning records from the major conferences make it. With the NIT, it's all about getting more viewers, and you do that by letting the big schools play.

Snubs: There were some 20 win teams that didn't make the field: Toledo, Samford, Holy Cross, Sam Houston St., Coastal Carolina, and Texas A&M-Corpus Christi (although they are Independent and I'm not sure if they qualify for postseason play).

My school (UMD) is a #1 seed... shame we didn't make the NCAAs, but after the whole McCray thing, #1 seed in the NIT ain't too shabby... And, if we make the champiionship game, it's on my birthday!
