I am deciding between these two and about to test drive them both. I have owned Honda before and am satisfied with their quality. Toyota makes quality products as well. So here is the hard part: each car as things that the other does not. The Camry might be a bit more quieter, but the Accord will be more sporty and fun to drive. As for the interiors, I like them both but the Accord's interior seems more classier.

After the test drive it will make it easier for me to decide, but what do you think I should get?

Or should I wait for the 2008 Honda Accord? :D

accord.

camry quality is falling off. it was beaten by at least 3 domestics in the latest JD power 3 year dependability survey.

then again, accord must have fallen off too, because it wasn't there either.

at least accord isn't fugly. bangle-butt'd camrys FTL

06 Accord - the 2.4L has plenty of pep with the manual transmission and people over at drive-accord.net claim 28-30MPG city under normal driving.

you'd be crazy to buy a new accord right now knowing a new one is just around the corner... unless it has some major discount.

the accord makes ~10 hp more power.

accord has double wishbone suspension all four wheels, camry uses struts all around.

one thing i like a lot about the accord is it's easy to mod and swap better parts from other hondas/acuras, but most people probably don't care for this.

for the I4, i wouldn't count on any big HP bumps for 2008, the accord got a completely new engine design in '03, and the engine family/lineage typically lasts 10-15 years.

The 08 V6 accord is supposed to get a new family/design V6 so that may see a bigger power increase.

Alright, decided to bump this one more time. I have driven the Camry and thought it was quiet but not much involving to drive. I think I will not buy a Camry as the Accord is just as nice but feels better when you drive it. The Mazdaspeed 3 is just about to come out and I think it looks sweet, but gas mileage will be a concern. How does the regular Mazda 3 hatchback compare to a 2007 4-cylinder Honda Accord in terms of gas mileage?

The Accord in the photos you posted is the International Accord - North America gets that car as the Acura TSX here, and it will be our next generation Accord.

The speed3 is more comparable to the V6 Accord, it is about 250HP. Also you would need to use premium gas.

Really, just go test drive the 3, see which one you like. The only problem, you might have a hard time finding a Mazda 3 Hatch right now, the '07 just came out and the 4dr seems to be the priority for Mazda, dealers around me were saying I could get one in Oct maybe. I just bought an '06 4dr they had since it had the exact specs I wanted. :) The I4 Accord has slightly more power. Personally I dislike Honda's styling so I didn't even look at the Accord so I couldn't tell you how it compares from experience.

can't you look up the EPA mileage yourself

the 2.0L gets a bit better mileage than accord, the 2.3L gets about the same, but the 3 is a smaller car than the accord

rated mileage is not the mazda 3s strong point
