That's so dumb. An 8 foot bed allows for more cargo space to do what a truck is meant to do, haul stuff, not people.

Just curious what kind of MPG does the cummins engine get?

I want it. but it would have to have an 8' bed.

That is a myth as long as the Engine Blocks are made of the same material. A diesel engine weighs the same as a gas engine of the same amount displacement and cylanders.

What a completely useless piece of junk. How the hell do you haul a 4x8 piece of ply with it? If you can't haul big stuff why do you need it? So you can say you drive a pick up?
POS.

Actually you are completely wrong. Most of todays gas car engines are all aluminum and most trucks have atleast alum. heads(foreign trucks are all alum). Diesel motors are heavy in nickel to handle the stress. Pressures inside the diesel engines are alot more than gas.
Viper motor weights about 648lb with accessories and the Cummins weighs in at close to 1100lbs.

Looking for a link for the weight of the Cummins.
