I agree, I'd rather have an old one too, but I'm curious of the performance comparison not the sentimental.

For performance of a Charger, check the 300C. Especially the SRT8 version. I'm pretty sure that stock for stock (incl. tires), that the new one would smoke the old one. 40 years of tech will do that

...though the Daytona Charger would out top speed the new Charger by about 30MPH.

Friends of my families have a Daytona. That thing is sweet. Unfortunately they have one w/ a 440 in it, not the Hemi, but sweet none the less. First car to break 200mph. I'd be willing to bet that one of the new Chargers could do it too if it was geared for it. and maybe tweaked a little.

So, it's probably safe to assume that the Charger is a touch faster (though maybe it just looks a little more aerodynamic).
