2006 Darwin Award Nominees are in

Wow, thumbs up to a Darwin Award thread where the OP actually knows what a Darwin Award is and doesn't just repost some lameass list that's been forwarded around the net since the beginning of time.

A couple of those sound like suicides... suicide shouldn't make the Darwin awards. (jumping out of a train above the Hudson, flying a kite using copper wire underneath transmission lines...) It's hard to decide if claiming your faith will allow you to walk on water, then walking into the water and drowning is technically a suicide. I mean, if someone convinced me I could walk on water, and I attempted to; about the time it was up to my neck, I might start having second thoughts.

Then you just lacked the faith! The train one sounds sketchy because it's third hand and thus heresay. The high tension wire one just sounds like the guy was an idiot.

"Lacking the miraculous powers of David Copperfield, let alone holy Jesus Christ, this ill-fated cleric found only a Darwin Award at the end of his final path."
