Hello I just recently bought a 2005FPW. It is a great monitor for the price ($400). I have no dead pixels and no bleed through. However, my eyes are killing me after looking at it for more than about a half-hour because the refresh rate at the optimal resolution (1680 x 1050) is only 60 Hertz. Is there any safe way to up that???

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

Your eyes are not sore because of the refresh rate - 60hz is a perfectly acceptable level for an LCD. These LCD's come out of the package VERY bright. You should try turning down the brightness to 0 in the OSD, and tweak your settings from your video drivers software.

Thank you so much for your quick reply! This is my first LCD. I'll give what you suggested a shot! Thanks again

CRT Refresh rates = important
LCD Refresh rates = not important

Your eyes are suffering because it's just too bright :)

Then why is it listed at 60 Hertz? I don't have an LCD, but two of my friends do. From the viewpoint of someone who didn't know that refresh rates didn't exist on LCDs, one of my friend's monitor seemed noticeably smoother than the other.
