Autocrossing is car racing, legally, normally around pylons set up in a parking lot by some local racing group. You can also do it around tracks and it can be considered autocrossing, I think, but check google for a perfect definition

Had a 2004 Maxima rental as well.
Felt much more luxury than the previous ones which had more emphasis on sport.
If I could get past the fugly grill, it'd be a good ride for the parents.

I have an '05 Maxima and it also recommends premium fuel - Says it right on the fuel door.

FYI, I did compare the Maxima to the TL. I probably would have gotten the TL but it was about $5K more and the difference wasn't worth it to me. The Acura dealers in town (Seattle) wouldn't negogiate much down from sticker and I got my Maxima for $700 under invoice.

Shorthand for Autocross. Google SCCA and see where it takes you.

Anyways, Maximas are decent cars, my friend has an '02. Unfortunately for him, he's had pre-cat failures which killed his first and 2nd motor. The interior is pretty middle of the pack as well.

That said, his car is pretty quick for a grocery getter. I can beat 00-01s in my Focus, but 02-03s absolutely murder me.

The problem exists on the 4th Gen (95-99), 5th Gen, (00-03) and now even on the 6th Gen (04-present). The problem has gotten more severe as they pump more and more HP to the front wheels. Any updates to the suspension geometries to help counter the torque steer are in vain as with each generation gets more HP.

Hehe, I'll let you drive my '92 SE and then tell me there wasn't torque in the 3rd gens too. Of course its not so stock...
