haven't the mariner and mazda tribute been around since the first escape?

The Tribute has, but the Mariner is an "all new" model for '05

While pretty bad...it isn't quite as bad as GM and their quality Trailblazer rebadging. That truck must be sold by 7 different brands...lets see:

Chevy
GMC
Buick
Isuzu
Saab

Ok...only 5 that I can think of...but still pretty bad.

What chassis is the Hummer H2 based on? TrailBlazer?

H2 is based around the Tahoe chassis I believe.

The Saturn Vue is exclusive to Saturn. Every Saturn had an exclusive design/chassis until this new Minivan comes out (Saturn Relay). Thats based off the Pontiac Montana/Chevy Venture platform.

Not quite😀

The Equionox is based on the Vue chassis
The Saturn Ion shares its chassis with the Chevy Cobalt

I loved the Escape when it first came out.
Optioned out now it becomes expensive and I would consider purchasing a larger SUV.
