2005 Holiday Gift Guide

Nice... My Ferrari didn't make the cut 🙁
I'm getting a crumpler backpack for xmas so none of those bags for me. Does anyone have an opinion on the pcmcia sound card?

Wow...that Sony sure is fast at 1.20MHz. Wait...my 486 was quicker!

Heh, thanks for catching that 🙂 Fixed

NP I know how it is, used to do reviews myself with deadlines and crap. The fun ones were Comdex reports when you are back at the hotel at like 2AM after some crazy night 😛

Heh, we'll be doing that @ CES this year. A first for all of us, being a relatively new site, it is going to be quite an experience 🙂

Here's some advice...book the hotel if you haven't already. Also call in before you get there for advanced registration. No lines vs. usually long lines at check-in.

Any reason why the Ferrari was left out?

And firebird, do you have any news on when Yonah laptops will be availible? any idea what retailers will have them first?

Sorry for not responding sooner.

We didn't recommend the Ferrari because it is a bit pricey and oriented towards a specific group of consumers. We do love the machine to death, no doubt; it just didn't fit in this guide 🙂

Look to see Yonah laptops in January, but dual core machines may not show up until February.

As far as retailers, I've not heard anything specific. There will be a few companies that have the tech available immediately and everyone else will follow in due time. If I had to guess, I'd say Lenovo will a Yonah version of the Z60's out pretty quick but I'm not sure about everyone else.
Oh, and Dell probably will too.
