Wow.

I mean I knew it would be nice, but this is just awesome. I cant find one dead pixel. I have great vision and am looking hard.

It looks beautiful, and the real estate is just sweet. I am so glad I stayed away from a standard nineteen inch.

I am trying to see the backlighting issue but its very very hard to notice it on this monitor. A strange thing I noticed about mine, at least compared to several others I have seen that people just got in the last couple days is mine was manufactured the same date as theirs but mine is a Rev A02 and theirs was a Rev A01. Mine was made in Mexico.

But the adjustability, the color, the perfect super sharp text (Dont have clear type or any other features on and the text still looks amazing).

Thank you so much to all who talked me into this monitor.

One question if I could, can anyone suggest a good test site, or software application that I can use to test everything, including the backlight and check for dead pixels and such?

Oh and to potential customers you cant go wrong with this. Its an amazing looking monitor and the wide screen layout is just utterly sweet. And this is replacing a very nice NEC 19" so I know what good colors look like.

Edit: Oh and this is out of the box, not one single adjustment done, DVI mode on my X800XL. Cant imagine I need any but are there any suggested tweaks to actually improve image quality even further?

Edit x2: I am really hoping to find something to test the backlighting issue as I am playing Doom III and several other really dark games, plus movies and watching when the screen turns perfectly black and I am honestly not noticing any backlighting issue at all, if there is any its perfectly uniform but it appears to be as black as the screen can get. I am hoping the Rev A02 has something to do with this. Man this is just such a flawless image. The more I look at it the more I am becoming impressed with it.

Thank you HN.

Wow am I lucky.

Zero Dead Pixels and the screen is perfect. There is no issue at all with backlighting. I am looking at a screenshot online that shows backlighting issues and its very obvious if your monitor has them. Mine has zero issue, in fact it is perfectly black so apparently Dell has been listening and this Rev A02 is very impressive.

Anyone else got Rev A02? I am wondering if I just got lucky and got a very good panel or if the A02 is a step up from the problems that Dell was experiencing with this monitor.

All I can say is wow. I wish I had a Digital camera as I would take some pics and post them for others to see how impressive it is.

Edit: Hmm correct that, there are some slight backlighting issues in the lower left and right. But it is slight and not noticeable in games. I have so far only noticed it when screens are switching and the screen is totally black and it is still very slight so not really a problem.

Thank you Dell, both for the great price (The coupons) and the fast shipping and the delivery of the best monitor I have ever owned.

I cant get the image to come out clearly on the model, I got twenty shots and they are all so blurry you cant make out the text at all. :(

Going to call a few friends and see if any have a Digital camera I can borrow. I cant get anything but blurry junk with this cheapo I got. I can send the blurry shots to anyone who wants them if they want to try and clean em up. But its going to be hard as its very blurry.

Camera is held still and held as close as possible, I have also tried backing off and moving closer but it just will not capture text the size that is on the back of the lcd.

Is anyone using the X800 XL video card with this monitor, would this video ccard work good with this monitor. They have several video cards listed with this monitor but not this one.

Got mine on Monday looks great no dead pixels and only slight bleeding in lower left corner. Rev A01 May 2005. My Radeon 9800 seemed to be struggling some with 1680*1050 res in a couple of games so got a X800xt AIW and it took care of that real fast. Pleased as hell with em both.

My next monitor will be the 2405fpw or the 30" Apple Cinema. I just need a good sale on either to push me over the edge.

I got mine many months ago (A01) for $550 and I still think it was worth the price. Absolutly love it!
