Wow.
I mean I knew it would be nice, but this is just awesome. I cant find one dead pixel. I have great vision and am looking hard.
It looks beautiful, and the real estate is just sweet. I am so glad I stayed away from a standard nineteen inch.
I am trying to see the backlighting issue but its very very hard to notice it on this monitor. A strange thing I noticed about mine, at least compared to several others I have seen that people just got in the last couple days is mine was manufactured the same date as theirs but mine is a Rev A02 and theirs was a Rev A01. Mine was made in Mexico.
But the adjustability, the color, the perfect super sharp text (Dont have clear type or any other features on and the text still looks amazing).
Thank you so much to all who talked me into this monitor.
One question if I could, can anyone suggest a good test site, or software application that I can use to test everything, including the backlight and check for dead pixels and such?
Oh and to potential customers you cant go wrong with this. Its an amazing looking monitor and the wide screen layout is just utterly sweet. And this is replacing a very nice NEC 19" so I know what good colors look like.
Edit: Oh and this is out of the box, not one single adjustment done, DVI mode on my X800XL. Cant imagine I need any but are there any suggested tweaks to actually improve image quality even further?
Edit x2: I am really hoping to find something to test the backlighting issue as I am playing Doom III and several other really dark games, plus movies and watching when the screen turns perfectly black and I am honestly not noticing any backlighting issue at all, if there is any its perfectly uniform but it appears to be as black as the screen can get. I am hoping the Rev A02 has something to do with this. Man this is just such a flawless image. The more I look at it the more I am becoming impressed with it.
