2004 Subaru Legacy

eh, looks OK.
I stopped getting excited about cars that haven't been released in US market long time ago. Lets see what they bring here and then we will talk 🙂.

as much as i like my honda
i might have to get a subaru as my next car.
i wanted to get one instead of the honda, but things always dont work out the way you want.

My problem with subaru is that all of them have AWD and arguably that's an entirely useless thing to have in the South (any handling benefits aside). Inevitably it has to be built into the purchase price and thus you're paying for something you have no use for. That's why i think I see so few subarus down here, whereas in canada I recall seeing a great many more.

Most likely true. I wouldn't mind though, as I see it as a positive feature.. regardless of if you "really" use it or not.

Can't beat an AWD launch though. 😀

but its not here yet. The article said it will be here next summer as 2005 model. So no its not here and you can't possibly get excited about a car that is not released in US.

Also seems like 2.0 turbo charged 276HP japanese version won't be released to US. Only the 2.5 250HP and I don't see that as anything out of ordinary.

WRX STi came here, albeit a bit late. Again, if market demand proves as strong for these new Legacies as it was for the WRX, then perhaps a Legacy STi with 300hp will make it over here.

The engine choice will be a tough decision--go with the flat-six pushing 240+ hp or the turbo four pushing 250+ hp?? I can imagine a lot of wagon/Outback buyers going for the six-cylinder...it'll be interesting to see how the torque/powerband compares between these two engines...

Gimme the turbo'd 2.5 for a wee less power please. I like a little low end torque with my engine. Thank you.

Damn, party pooper. I guess we shouldn't get excited about the Lambo Guillardo, Nissan Titan, Golf V, etc b/c they aren't here yet??

Puhlease, get that sh!t outta here!!

My Passat wagon will most likey be replaced by a Legacy wagon w/ the 2.5L turbo or a the Forester XT.

Subaru ROCKS. That is the only car we'd consider replacing our 2000 Accord with... short of another Accord. 🙂
