What's the problem? Almost all of GMs vehicles are like this. In fact, hardly any of them AREN't clones.

So why would anyone buy from GMC as compared to Chevy? If a person was car shopping, why would they consider entering the GMC dealership, when it has the same cars as the Chevy dealership.

GMC is considered a step up from Chevy.

e.g. 4 wheel steering is only available on GMC.

That unfortunately is true. My chevy has a lower re-sale value for the same GMC model (ie: same year, mileage, condition)

I personally like the GMC grill and broad looks personally... now getting to the question

I got my Astro $2500 cheaper than the comparable GMC version. (I'm not planning on selling my car.... just use it 'til it dies (all the while drive a regular car {Scion xB or BMW 325} if I decide to purchase one later on down the road)

And the Chevy Cavalier is a Toyota Cavalier in Japan. Very limited though.

HAHA... wow Subaru quality getting recognized congruently with Chevy quality. Good going GM. (Same as in US... Toyota Matrix = (GM)Pontiac Vibe)

GM has quite a large stake in Subaru. That's why they are using the Impreza platform for some new vehicles (SAAB 9-2 being one of them).

The Subaru Forester is sold as the Chevy Forester in India.

GMC has a higher resale value. GMC also offers some different engine/drivetrain configurations and vehicle options than Chevy on some models. I find some of their vehicles to have more attractive styling cues than Chevy, though not so much the case anymore. Other than certain options and styling cues, they're identical. Have been years and years.

This is news? What rock have you been hiding under for the last few decades? Lots of car companies produce clones for other nameplates......Toyota Corolla and the Chevy Prizm (when it was being sold by Chevy) for one.

As far as why to buy GMC over Chevy........sometimes the GMC just has a better grille or interior cloth or whatever. But they are the same, at least on the light duty end of the scale.
